Installation of Hillcrest Officers

Every Year the three fire companies in Orchard Park ( Hillcrest, Orchard Park Central and Windom) come together to celebrate their brotherhood at the Hillcrest Grove. Food and games are the plan for the day. Earlier in the day some of the firefighters put down the hose and pick up their golf clubs for a friendly 18 holes of golf. Some say it more dangerous playing golf than fighting a fire. Either way friendship is the plan for the day.
May 9th a rope rescue drill at Hillcrest 0900 hrs Niagara Frontier Search and Rescue, Erie County Sheriffs Office, West Falls Fire Company, East Aurora Fire Department, Orchard Park Fire Company, Hillcrest Fire Company, and the ALERT Agency. All these agencies are involved in our technical rescue grant and will be participating.
Once again Hillcrest celebrates another year of serving the community. Many of the members receiving recognition for the above and beyond service they provided. Special recognition went to outgoing officers and high achievement responders. A special thank you went to out of town mutual aid companies that assisted Hillcrest Fire during the November storm. The thank you included a commerative t shirt that highlighted the track of the storm. Companies from all over NYS came - Weedsport FD, Port Byron FD, Hornell FD, Throop FD, North Hornell FD, Endwell FD and, as always by our side, Niagara Frontier Search and Rescue Team. The EMT program comes to an end. Hillcrest Firefighters Bri Meyers, Ron Hendershot and Jon Westendorf passed the NYS Practical Skills tests on March 11th and went on to the NYS EMT Written evaluation on March 19th. Stand by for their results, should be in around April 20th! Good luck!

The Hillcrest Fire Company sponsored NYS EMT Class winding down after 6 months of training. Students are practicing skills for their NYS Certifying State test to be held in March. These dedicated volunteers are attending the 166 hour state certifying class while fulfilling their volunteer duties, employment responsibilities and personal commitments.
The class meets every Tuesday and Thursday at the Hillcrest Fire Hall from 1800 hours to 2200 hours. If you're interested in the training stop by!
